Late onset of puberty, and a delay of the onset of menopause, the chances of women and 90 years live, can increase, a new study has concluded.

The study found that women who are menstruating at the age of 12 or started earlier - experienced and menopause at the age of 50 years or more - increased the chance of life to 90 years, said Aladino study's lead author Shadyab the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine.

"Our team found that women who started at a later age were menstruating less likely to have health problems such as coronary heart disease, and those who experience menopause later in life, his overall health rather in very good condition, which is a may be a possible explanation for our results, "Shadyab said in a press release.

The women, menstruation and menopause experienced started at a later age were also less likely to have a history of diabetes or smoking have.

"Factors such as smoking, can damage the cardiovascular system and the ovaries, which can lead to earlier menopause. Women with menopause later and longer life reproduction may have a decreased risk of cardiovascular disease," Shadyab said.

The study, published online July 27, 2016, in menopause, is the first to evaluate the association of reproductive factors with survival to a certain age, old as 90 years.

The study of 16,000 participants involved what Health Initiative (WHI), a national women's longitudinal research postmenopausal, who had followed a diverse racial and ethnic group for 21 years. Of this group survived 55 percent for 90 years.

Another study published earlier this week had a different view of menopause. Two UCLA studies have shown that menopause and its partners shown in the crime - insomnia that comes with it - can make faster older women.

Both results, just published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Biological Psychiatry, suggest that early menopause and insomnia may increase the risk of women with age - related disease and premature death.
