I want just to be healthier.
I've heard that many times, customers and the people in the world. This desire to be healthier seems that many behaviors attract: Marathon course is CrossFit, give soda or sugar or milk or white carbohydrates.
But what we often find when I am able to investigate a little deeper:
"I want to be healthier" is often a cover for "I want to be thinner."
Wait Marathon because we get that "healthy", we lose a few pounds.
We want the sugar to give up because we hope that we have that "healthy" our jeans fit again.
For the record, I think it's normal to want to be thin. Although social pressure categorically that women should be thin, I'm not the police want to lose to your door to positivity body weight post.
But let's call a spade a spade. If you want to lose weight while explicitly acknowledged.
Why? Because if you do not tell the truth, you will not be able to honestly and accurately prioritize your needs.
This thing imports "priority". Each can have many different needs, and these needs elements may conflict with each other. But if you are not really on this priority, then it is less likely to feel satisfied.
For example, say you want to lose weight, and also want to be healthy. Great! But the two are compared with respect to the priority of each other? If you run a lot healthier through a marathon, but eventually gain 10 pounds in the process, for example, how you feel about it? Your answer to that question says a lot about their true motives.
Or what about your weight loss desire before his request:
Trust yourself to the food?
Honor your own hunger and fullness?
Eat foods that you like?
Stop thinking about lots / calorie / point all the time?
Food and eat on vacation without worry?
They looked as if the weight is stable, without "do" to have something?
Feeling good about your body?
It is worthwhile to recognize that it is possible to achieve different goals simultaneously. It can feel in your body well, how to improve your health, for example. But at some point there will be a compensation for everything. If you focus on weight loss, for example, you can stop eating foods you like what you feel, need and can make more prone to binging in the long run.
So if things go wrong, what do you choose?
And if you say that "health" is your priority, is it true? Or "Health", a codeword for "slimming" (mainly because it may be healthier without losing weight)?
Again, there is no right answer, necessarily. But there is an honest answer to you.
