October is awareness month for breast cancer, and the most important test for breast cancer screening is mammography.
Dr. Christina Speirs, an oncologist at the Cancer Center of Hawaii, says that if a woman should begin to examine and explain what happens during a mammogram.
Speirs said that the guidelines have relaxed for mammography recently. annual mammograms are used recommended for women aged 40 or more.
Now, in 2016, the Prevention of the United States recommends workgroup services biennial screening for women 50 and older.
Speirs says women can opt for annual screening between the ages 40 to 50 still, but should be for overtreatment and overdiagnosis deliberately increased radiation exposure and the potential.

- Has a first degree relative with a BRCA mutation,
